Late Night Rainbow

I just happened to look out my window to catch the last of an amazing sunset and rainbow tonight at 10:00pm. Absolutely Gorgeous. We need to see more of these this summer, fingers crossed!

Parade Day

A couple weekends ago was Beaumont Days in the little town of Beaumont. A bunch of friends came over in the morning and brought along their kiddos to watch the parade on the front lawn. Natalie had a blast watching all of the different floats go by, she was especially excited when the horses came. The forecast had called for rain but it turned out to be a beautiful morning.

Last weekend I had a few moments to sneak away with Michelle and her little princess to capture some images of the them in the dandelion field. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. Two of the most gorgeous girls in my life :)

Calgary Road Trip

Last Saturday Michelle, Isabella, Rhodes, Natalie, Hendrix and I headed down the highway to visit my dad and sister for the weekend. Michelle left with the kids earlier in the day on Friday and I came down after work. Friday night we had a delicious dinner of Ribs with Nonno while Amy was at work. Saturday morning we packed up into 2 vehicles and went for a drive to the Farmers Market in Millarville. We ended up going on a detour through Okotoks and went to see the house we used to live in when I was born. Pretty neat being able to see your childhood home. Dad says it's way rundown from the last time he saw it - not very surprising as it was 21 years ago that we lived there.

We spent a good hour at the Farmers Market looking at all the different tables, tasting Beef Jerky, and of course the Kettle Corn! We came across these little handmade matching outfits and had to buy them for the kiddos. The plan is to do some family pictures fairly soon with the new outfits, so you will have to wait to see them... picture miniature cowboy/cowgirls :).

Once we had all our goodies from the market we drove up to Bragg Creek for a picnic. We ended up at the provincial park where we laid out a blanket, enjoyed some food while soaking in the beautiful weather. Nat, dad and I walked down to the water for a little bit which was a blast. Natalie is so curious and loves to explore. She was calling the forest a jungle and kept stopping to say "You hear dat?" whenever a bird or a cricket would chirp, too cute!! We stayed out there for a couple hours, stopped in town for a visit to the candy store and then got back on the road to Calgary.

Saturday night we had a few friends over for a big pasta dinner and then spent the night out in the backyard and on the porch enjoying more of the fabulous weather. Sunday was Father's Day so we made a lovely breakfast for Nonno. Then it was time to pack up the van and get going back to Edmonton so the kids could spend the day with their papa (Andrew had to work and was unable to come to Calgary). It was a great weekend, even though it was a short one. I captured quite a few awesome shots over the couple days, here are a few for you to enjoy. Happy Saturday :)

Flashback Friday: July 17, 2011

It's hard to believe this was 11 months ago already! Look at how itty bitty my little munchkins were! In the last pic Natalie was moving Bell's hand from touching Rhodey, I remember she kept telling her "NO" and moving her arm. It's funny how a photograph brings you right back to the moment, I love how it can do that. Hopefully I will always remember those moments when I look back at these pictures many years from now.

TGIF I tell ya. I am really excited for the end of work today as I am headed south to visit my sister and papa in honor of Father's Day. Michelle and the kidlets have already taken off without me, but I will join them exactly 2.5 hours after I hit the highway. We have an exciting weekend planned so I am super stoked for it. I also have set aside some time to focus completely on my school work. I am looking forward to having a few days to get a huge portion of my course done....well that's the plan anyways! Hope you all have a lovely Friday and a very Happy Father's Day with your papas.

Alberta Weather

Gotta love Alberta and it's crazy weather I tell ya! One day it's mid twenties and the sun is shining, and the next a huge wall of black clouds rolls in. We have been having some crazy looking skies the past few days with lots of rain and the occasional thunderstorm. Last night my team had a soccer game in Beaumont and we were surrounded by a circle of black. We were bracing for the rain to start pouring down but it never did; it sprinkled a little and held off. The bottom right pic is the sky from the soccer field last night. I wanted to share these pics with you on this rainy Thursday night. Now I am off to bed as I am in much need of a good nights "beauty sleep". Toodles :)
